Million dollar race horse
Zig Ziglar was a Motivational Speaker and Author for many years with fans across all areas of Society.
One interesting section of his presentation comes when he starts to illustrate a point he is going to make by drawing up a situation where you are the owner of a Million Dollar racehorse and how you would treat the animal.
Obviously you have a large amount of money at stake owning the horse and want to take good care of your asset so hopefully you can win many races in the future and reap the Financial rewards.
His questions to the audience start:
Would you feed the horse pop, chips, and Junk food or use the best hay and water you can find?
Does the horse get regular Health checks?
What kind of living quarters do you want? What would they look like, Cheap, dirty and messy,? – Visualisation
What qualities are you looking for in a trainer(Teacher) for your racehorse?
Do you keep the horse in the barn all day and night and bring it out only when it needs to relieve itself or do you want the trainer to exercise the animal every day and stay healthy and ready for the Races.
Would you keep the horse up all night drinking beer and Playing around (Crowd normally laughs at this suggestion ) or should it have a regular routine and get a good nights sleep?
Then Mr. Ziglar makes the point: You’re going to make well over a Million dollars in your Careers – How are you treating yourself?
All the things you wanted for the Horse should be applied to your own personal Life.
I encourage you to start following the various Speakers that resonate with you in life. Read books, watch video’s and attend conferences when possible. Once you start expanding your mind it can never go back to its original size.
I hadn’t seen anything from Mr. Ziglar for many years and was working in a high-stress job that had me traveling away from home 4-5 days a week with the result being a comfortable rut hotel lifestyle. The Hotel facility we used for a training class had a large full-length mirror at the back door entrance. As I stood there getting ready to hit the stage – I noticed my Racehorse had become a Bloated Junk food carnival ride – the memory flashed into my head the Teacher had arrived.
