Diet: You are what you eat and as it turns out how you eat it.
As with the other areas of our lives you need to find the systems that “Speak” to you, Regular diets seem to come and go through out our lives with the newest twist espousing miracle results.
Dieting is one of those topics that as been covered in so many ways and by some many people I felt that adding my voice to the Chorus would just be producing more white noise so lets talk about the relatively new angles on the topic – How you eat and Fasting diets.
The 5:2 diet is best described as a How you eat pattern rather than a ‘diet’, and there is a solid amount of scientific evidence supporting its benefits – including weight loss, mental clarity and improved metabolism.
The idea of fasting is not new but the concept of using it for weight loss became a bit of a phenomenon starting in August 2012, when the BBC broadcast a Horizon episode called ‘Eat Fast and Live Longer’. Doctor and journalist Michael Mosley presented the diet du jour as ”genuinely revolutionary” and as a result, published ‘The Fast Diet’ book in January 2013.

The High Intensity exercises and Diabetes reduction results from the same BBC broadcast Horizon series are also well worth your time and effort to apply in your life. Michael Mosley is an enthusiastic presenter that brings his own personal experiences and stories to the TV series.
My family, and Dr. Mosley’s have a history of Diabetes and the discussion he has with the viewer from a Doctor’s perspective on how disappointed he finds himself with his medical training and that a simple change in diet routine might have saved or at least extended his fathers life, made me determined to follow his advice.
The idea of simply changing my eating habits 2 days a week fit in well with my life style of constant travel and schedule changes that has always made a Traditional diet of controlling the food I eat and when much more difficult than the new 5:2 diet routine of having my Calendar remind me on specific days – Only eat 600 Calories today.
Combining the knowledge of Food quality and proportion size from traditional diets with a Fasting routine like the 5:2 Diet brings the best of both worlds to your life.
