Lying in bed thinking through all the negative things going on in your life fits nicely into the You are what you think about theory. Better to get up and going into the day and cut the worrying off.
Mel Robbins has a great video on waking up from a different perspective: Why hitting the snooze ruins your brain. give it a view. She explains in a clear way something I've wondered about for years - why do I feel like crap after I get 20 extra minutes of rest than when I just get out of bed with the alarm.
Next question why do I wake up before the alarm on the days I have something interesting to do that day? Our minds are such interesting systems I wish it came with a users manual and diagnostics book.
